 Schedule for Saturday, April 30th 

Registration & Participant Drop-Off

7:30am - 8:00AM 

Doors open for registration at 7:30am.  Parents/guardians will need to stop at the registration table to sign in each registered participants. Each registered participant will receive their sway bag and event t-shirt.

Get Connected! Meet your inspiHER Mentor & Light Breakfast

8:00am - 8:30am

Once registered, each participant will meet their mentor and join their fellow team members for some fun and engaging ice-breaker activities.  Each team will consist of 6-8 girls along with 1-2 high school mentors. Light snacks will be available.

Welcome & Opening Ceremony with Nashville Recording Artist - Abby Miller

8:30am - 9:10am

All participants and mentors will travel to the auditorium for the opening ceremony.  Parents are welcome to stay and sit in a designed area.  During the opening ceremony we will welcome each participant, go over the amazing schedule for the day, and get inspiHER with our Special Guest Abby Miller as she shares her story of overcoming her fears and chasing her dreams in Nashville.

Find Your Strong Fitness Session

for ALL participants in the gym

9:20am - 9:50am

All participants will travel to the gymnasium for our FIND YOUR STRONG Fitness Session to get their bodies moving and fired up for the day. This session will help lay a solid foundation for what it takes to be healthy, strong, and fit and show up each day as their best self. Girls will learn helpful tips about nutrition, exercise and mindset and how overall fitness levels will impact their social interactions, academics and athletics.

Optional Parent Session: Talking Mental Health to Your Child 

9:20am - 10:30am

This session, presented by Nationwide Children's Hospital, is an optional session for parents/guardians of registered participants attending the retreat.  This session addresses topics such as signs of depression, youth anxiety, and self injury;  warning signs and risk factors associated with youth suicide, and effective strategies for responding to these topics. *The session will take place in the middle school auditorium.

Breakout Session #1 

10:00am - 11:00am 

Participants will attend their first interactive breakout session.  Sessions topics will focus on leadership, confidence, resilience, self-care, and community service.  Please click here to view sessions, descriptions, and presenter information.

Breakout Session #2 

11:10am - 12:10pm

Participants will attend their second interactive breakout session.  Sessions topics will focus on leadership, confidence, resilience, self-care, and community service.  Please click here to view sessions, descriptions, and presenter information.

LUNCH

12:20pm - 12:50pm

All participants will travel back to their team tables for lunch.  Mentors will facilitate some followup activities to help reinforce the learning from the earlier breakout sessions.

Self-Defense Sessions with Fairfield County Sheriff's Department

1:00pm - 2:30pm

The Fairfield County Sheriff's Department will be providing self-defense training for all participants and mentors. This interactive session will focus on creating an awareness and a strong survival-oriented attitude in the area of self-defense tactics and techniques.  The information presented will be coupled with specific physical training and presented by Sgt. T.J. Strawn, Det. Roy Maple, Tiffany Hedrick, Dep. Dustin Beavers. (Split group: 1/2 of the participants will be in the Community Service/Gratitude Session) 

Community Service/Gratitude Projects

2:45pm - 4:15pm 

During this session participants will work on individual gratitude projects and as well as a community service project to benefit youth in our community. (Split group: 1/2 of the participants will be in the Self-Defense session with the Fairfield County Sheriff's Department.

Closing Session in Gym

4:30pm - 4:45pm

For the closing ceremony, students will travel to the gym for some closing remarks and words of inspiration as we bring our first leadership retreat to a close.

Dismissal for Participants 

4:45pm - 5:00pm

Participants will prepare for dismissal.  Parents/guardians and/ or individual designated to pick up participants must stop in the auditorium to sign out each participant.
