 Schedule for inspiHER 2023

Registration & Participant Drop-Off

8:00 am  

Doors open for registration at 8:00 am. Parents/guardians will need to stop at the registration table to sign their child in.  Each registered participant will receive their sway bag and an event t-shirt.

Mentor Welcome & Light Breakfast

8:30 am 

Once registered, each participant will meet their mentor and join their fellow team members for some fun and engaging ice-breaker activities.  Each team will consist of 6-8 girls along with their mentors. Light snacks will be available.

Welcome & Opening Ceremony 

8:50 am

All participants and mentors will travel to the main gym for the opening ceremony.  Parents are welcome to attend the free parent session that begins at 8:30 am and return at 2:30 pm for  an additional parent session.

General Session #1:

Strong Body, Strong Mind 

9:30 am 

This informative and interactive session will serve as an introduction to the powerful benefits of yoga, specifically how yoga’s physical and mental components work together to create a harmonious balance between body and mind, resulting in a stronger and calmer self. Participants will learn easy and accessible yoga poses and breathing techniques that can be incorporated into their daily routines.

General Session #2: Healthy Eating Habits

11:10 am - 11:30 am

Making healthy decisions about what you eat and drink, how active you are, and how much sleep you get is a great place to start.  In this session, Dr. Cappelletti will be sharing healthy-eating tips for adolescent girls to help perform and feel their best. 

LUNCH & Why Not Me Goal-Setting Session

11:45 am

Goal-setting is a powerful tool to improve self-confidence and build perseverance. Goals give us something to work toward, purpose to keep us motivated and – with a little luck and a lot of hard work – something to celebrate. In this session, participants will acquire the tools needed to set and achieve SMART goals to help them shape their own future.

5/6 Self-Defense Session

7/8 Gratitude/Community Service Project

1:00 pm 

SELF-DEFENSE: Self-defense goes beyond kicks and sticks to include body language, confidence, stance, using your voice, and moving to safety. This self-defense training presented in collaboration with the Gallia County  Sheriff’s Department will provide participants with a range of choices and opportunities to interrupt harmful situations before they ever would become physical. This session will help girls gain confidence and unlock their inner strength.

GRATITUDE/COMMUNITY SERVICE: Gratitude is believed to be one of the healthiest emotions that humans can practice. Being grateful is the kindest gesture that you can show for what you are having and valuing it is the highest form of thoughts.  During this session, participants will  have the opportunity to use their creativity and participate in a gratitude project that will be designed to give back to the community.

7/8 Self-Defense Session

REPEAT SESSION: Grade-levels switch

Session Debrief & Closing Ceremony

For the closing ceremony, students will travel to the gym for some closing remarks and words of inspiration as we bring the 2023 leadership retreat to a close.

Dismissal for Participants 

3:30 pm

Participants will prepare for dismissal.  Parents/guardians and/or individual designated to pick up participants must stop back at their child's team table and sign them out.
